1.What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a form of orthodontic treatment, which involves the process of wearing a series of clear, plastic aligners that are intended to correct abnormal bites or straighten the teeth. With Invisalign, there are no metal brackets, wires or dietary restrictions involved like those that come with traditional metal braces. Invisalign is also FDA approved and does not contain BPA, BPS or latex making Invisalign aligners safe for patients.
2. How does Invisalign work?
Prior to receiving the Invisalign aligners, the patient is “fitted” for the aligners by using digital scan technology (iTero). The scanner will create digital images of the mouth and map out a digital treatment plan down to even the smallest movements of the teeth.
Following, the aligners will be created and worn in the mouth for a certain amount of time depending on Dr. Gladwell’s instructions. Generally, patients can expect for one series of the aligners to be worn for 1-2 weeks at a time before changing into the next set of aligners.
3. Am I too old for Invisalign?
Absolutely not! We have patients of all ages who have either completed Invisalign treatment or are undergoing treatment currently. We happily treat adults with Invisalign and teens with Invisalign Teen. Please know that we are here for you to improve beautiful smiles, regardless of age as a factor!
